  The church's motto is "Turning ordinary people into passionate followers of Jesus Christ," and that has been true for my own life. First Assembly is a very healthy church that has zeal for God. There is a large college population, but there are also many families and elderly, which I love the multi-generations in a congregation. The messages are always very challenging and inspiring.
  
  This church also offers a spiritual retreat called "Breakthrough Weekend." Even if you don't plan on becoming a member of the church, attending the retreat will change your life. Call the church and ask about the next retreat-- it's great.
