  This is a wonderfully welcoming congregation regardless of an individual's background. Families with young children have a place to enjoy the service that accommodates the needs of the children in the back of the church. The sanctuary is simple but its wooden frame and tremendous height helps create a peaceful place to sense the power of God. Since this is a mainstream Lutheran church, there is a substantial liturgy but it is easy to follow in the bulletin provided. The musical director is a talented pianist, vocalist, and organist who directs an amazing choir for the size of the congregation. A large proportion of the congregation meets after services in the building next to the sanctuary for treats and sometimes prolonged conversation. The church members are engaged in an usually large amount of service and social justice activities including tending to a garden for food for St. Francis House. Adult programs are available both Sunday morning and Thursday noon. The church also hosts a vibrant program for university students.
